I just zapped through the new ones for probably less then a minute and didn't even bother to watch it. I rewatched the first one some years ago with a beamer on two moviescreens taped together for size, and sound over my 70ies A78 Revox Amp and large organ spekers, that was a blast.

The ghouls are partly inspired by the morlocks of the first (and best) movie version of the time machine.

I haven't seen the 70ies television version yet, maybe it is less bad then the later made attempts.
