Moondog is the charismatic blind composer (1916-1999) that started his career in the 1940ies.
Moondog is also the name of Richard Metzgers post-apocalzptic steampunk comic that was even made before the genre was invented. The hero was said to be named after the composer.

Cold Sun is an american band. Ariane was thinking of the krautband Night Sun here.

I'm catching a section i missed. (Your page code or my ancient browser seems to break both the Rate Page and Save Place, and i oopsed a bit)

Nice to see Moondog. His Stamping Ground is a part of the T3C soundtrack - very popular at Cave Raves (along with Sandy Nelson's Let There Be Drums)

(And nice to see Ariane, too!)

Stomping Ground was the first song by Moondog I've heard (and for quite some time the only one.) I was able to listen more of his work much later - and there are really some remarkable ones. And he inspried Metzger's Moondog comic (the apocalyptic steampunk comic decades before the genre was even invented,) that influenced my work a lot.

I think i've got all four issues of Metzger's Moondog tucked in the back of the cave, and a bit of his work from Gothic Blimp Works. I'm a fan, too. I'm pretty sure i ran part of Mal-Ig from when it was collected in Witzend back when i kept up my Voice Of ODD! blog.

I wish we'd gotten more from George.

I only have a german translation of some of his works, but I think this album influenced me most from all the comics I've read early.

Oh, that has a tantalizing bit in it.

I've got all the originals that were reprinted in it, and the Gypsy Ginger tale was reprinted later in Snarf. But i don't believe that Der Unter- und Aufgang der Musik has ever received an English translation.

Did you just check it out, or is it an old familiar?

I know it for a long-long time, although my favourite Nelson is "Teen Beat".

I thought that was more likely, but the separation in comments led me to pondering.

Good one, definitely, with Sandy strutting on the drums. (Again) It's not in the initial soundtrack simply because i'm trying to keep it one per artist early on for more variety.

The locals do have an odd mix of preferences like the two we've previously discussed for the Cave Raves. Big Festival music shifts over to things like Hugh Masakela's Emavungweni. They like to Ho-Down when they Get Down.

Don't fret - there's plenty of room and market for the music styles in your shows, too. TOTBT will be plenty popular enough to support the tour.
